Should I wait to ship knife to buyer until money order arrives

Unless he mailed it with a tracking number, you don't know. Also even if they sent you a tracking number, there's no guarantee that there is a money order in the envelope. You should wait until you got the money order and cash it before the knife is shipped out. Then hold onto the cash until you hear they are satisfied.

Never ship anything until money is in hand and cleared. I have seen on to many forums of people being ripped off. This is a draw back to MO and why many folks like Paypal because payment is instant. It's nice to be trusting but it will bite you if you don't know the character of the buyer. Good luck!

I DOO KNOT have a checking account. I dew have a couple of savings accounts, and some (2) national credit cards. If I have to pay my credit card bills, I get a money order. It is simple 4 me. There R not a lot of bills I have to pay. I use cash, no debit cards. Pay PAL I tried to sign up for, and maybe I do have an account. If vendors don't take aq credit card, I send a Money Order. I have not had any problem, maybe because I am honest. I can SEA others are not so. I ordered a custom knife. I sent 3/4 quarters of the payment, and told the knifemaker that he could cash it BEFORE he started work on my knife. Sure I put a lot of trust into someone I only met on this Forum. Most people here, appear to be honest people. MY 2 cents. Don't spend it all in one place.

It is accepted procedure that the buyer sends money first. When the money is received, the seller sends the product.

When trading, both send simultaneously, unless one is too new to have a good record here, so may be asked to ship first.

When a sale is between friends, old reliable members who have done business before, or who know each other from online discussions, both often send immediately.
