Should I worry about an off center Soddie?

I just got my first Case Sodbuster jr. (delrin and cv of course) and the blade is quite off center. When looking down at the knife, the blade rests almost against the left liner. For the last 4 years I have been carrying a med. stockman that I got at discount because the wharncliffe blade scratches the main blade. So my question is, should I use this ( the backspring is fine, plenty tight) or should I sent it back? I usually force a light patina and then beat the heck out of em, but this is my first single blade case ( and a centered slimline trapper) and I know if I found the same thing on a one hand knife, I would not be happy. I included a few photos but the iphone is the best I have for a camera. Any advice appreciated, I really just want to start using it.

If it were mine id just use it as long as it opens and closes ok. Enjoy your new buster!!

Not at all; unless there's rub against the liner, it's not an issue. Frequent use of the blade more often than not corrects itself.

Thank you so much. It doesn't rub against the liner, so frequent use it will get! starting now! I am so used to the slimline trapper for a one bladed case, I really love the thicker handles on this guy. Thanks!

Unless the blade rubs on some other part of the knife, I don't worry too much about blade centering. But when you look at a knife that is almost considered a utility knife (most sodbusters and their type), I really wouldn't give it a second thought. It isn't the same as a $100 knife where you might have a different set of standards.

That knife is made and manufactured to be a working man's knife, not a collectible or play pretty. As long as there isn't any major wobble or play, I would drop that knife in my pocket and put it to work and never give it a second thought.

I couldn't have said it better. My advice exactly. This is a working man's knife, not meant to be pretty or stylish. It's a $20 +/- knife. If the blade was wobbly or hitting the liners that's different. This one is good to go, use it and enjoy this classic knife! :)

My Soddie when new - slightly off-center, but plenty good for $23

A Sod Buster Jr. was the first Case that I bought with my own money. I don't carry them anymore due to my hand being huge and I like a 4 inch handle (have 6 of them though). I do however love the Full size Sod Buster! Here's a shot of my grandfather's knife and of mine.
