I have the Buck Kalinga Pro folder in S30V and the rosewood handles and brass, and its a beauty, but thats the problem, too pretty to use, not really a "working" knife. I have been thinking of buying the standard kalinga folder with the black handles and 420HC blade and swapping blades so the S30V blade is on the black handle and the 420HC is on the brass/rosewood. I would like to put that S30V blade to work and just have the rosewood handle to look at.... I know it sounds stupid and it will ruin the value of the knife. So what do you think?

I wouldnt do it, I'd buy a different knife all together to use, or you can just use it... but thats just my opinion...

Why not just use it the way it is?

Too pretty to use? I don't understand that talk.... Right now I have a Large Damascus Sebbie in my pocket  Its pretty, but not too pretty to use ;)

Yeah you probably right, I usually carry more of a "working" knife, and this one is just so shiny and pretty, but the blade is friggin super sharp. (Sharpest factory I ever had) I don't want to ruin the value, so I will let it the way it is.

Do you plan on selling it? If not, just use it. You cant take it to your grave (well you could but youd be dead either way:P)

I do not have any knives that I do not carry or use. That s30v is just begging to cut something! Why would you want to use a steel with a lower level of performance, when you already have a great one?
