Should San Mai be oiled?

I just picked up a San Mai SRK and am wondering if the blade should be oiled to prevent corrosion or whether it's even a issue with this type of steel?

It's stainless so it shouldn't be a worry unless you have been known to rust a stainless blade.

id say sure, go ahead. its no gonna hurt anything and as we all know, stainless is not really stainless, its only stain resistant.

Agreed. Oil should not hurt the blade, and will likely keep it corrosion free. HOWEVER, whatever you store the blade in may not be so eager to accommodate the oil.

There are many types of oil to consider also. choose wisely.
