The joy of a great deal ! You look and hunt and you get a super, super,Buck worth a lot more than you paid. It fits in nice with what you collect, and you have a great feeling of satisfaction in finding that elusive, rare varaition is in YOUR box............Then someone makes you a killer offer for it.....More than the avarage selling price......What do ya do ?????? This is happening to me right now. I know I could sell and add 5,6,7,mabe more lesser blades to my 112 collection, but I might neaver have another chance to reaplace the REALLY nice nice one I got the super deal on... I have a limted budjet like most of my fellow Buckrooes so its not just a queston buying it latter, I might no ever get the chance to replace it unless I hit the lotto or some other windfall.I know I would have a great time spending the profit from the sale of my star too....Sell one get ten! But oh how I would miss her..I dont really want sell any knife, all the ones I have I bougt to Keep but it sure is tempting.I DONT WANT TO LET ANY BUCK GET AWAY..........ARG!!!!!!!!

Nope! I wouldn't sell a star, especially if it was purchased at a good price. I just don't like dealing with the regret portion of my brain, that thought circles around too often. I only regret selling 1 knife...and would pay triple what I sold it for..to get it back:(

II dont want to be a "Dealer" even a minor one..I used to kid 334,"just sell one of your extras" when he found a rare 110 ..I just want to keep them all that find there way to my house

I can't add anything to this!

I have sold knives as I made my mind up how my collection was to be. I did sell one I regretted and wound up buying another just like it for double the price within a year... Good luck in whatever decision you make!

Hee hee hee hee .. how does the song go ..
and another one down -
another one one done
another buck junky bites the buck!!!
oh~ that is right ~no singing on the forum...:(

I should add to my previous post,

I sold one that was replaced (for more money),
I sold one that I have never been able to find to be able to replace :( (factory knife only made for one year and since discontinued),
and I traded one to a great BCCI member. He didnt have the knife and I had a pair of them, (there were 2500 made of this particular L.E. "star") I have since replaced it with 2 more ;)

It is different if your "star" is a factory production model or not... A buck Yellowhorse may be very regrettable... Tough to replace. If its a limited edition 110 then its a different situation ;)
Good luck!

Bucksway,

My fellow Buck fever brother. Don't do it...not at any price. The hunt is fun...but, the great find at a great price are few and far between. That is part of what is making this "STAR" shine brighter in your collection. More 112's will come your way in time...don't sell your soul to the company store...if you know what I mean!!!!

....and besides, if you sell your Star, and have the funds to buy 10 other 112s.....that reduces my chances for buying those 112s :p:D

I would not sell it. Money comes and goes, and everyone has at least a dollar bill in their pocket. Not everyone will have that same Buck knife ;).

Best of Luck,
John

I have never sold any of my 300's. I have given a few of the common models away as gifts, to hunting and working buddies.....I have two "stars" which shall remain in my sky...... as long as I at least have beans and cornbread......300$s

Sounds like your already having sellers remorse and you haven't even sold it........

You'll regret it if you sell it.

Its LUCY from the thread "Its on the way" Darryls kindly posted a pic I after threatned to go to his house to get a pic posted ! A serious Yellowhorse collector here in Florida who has a latter "LUCY" with a mirror polished blade (mine is satin) is verrrry instrated beause of the single bolster stamp "YELLOWHORSE" verses a two line "By David Yellowhorse" seen on others.... I called David after I got it and asked what the value might be. David said 900.00 ARRRRGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Real early Yellowhorse items dont come up often....Lots of later patterns you find everywhere....When I mentioned NINE bills (ARGGGG) Just a little shrug...You can buy a lot of 112s for that! ARAGGGAGGGAGG

hee hee hee ;)
will you realy jest say no bro ?
dont worry he will only offer you some thing like 750 bucks then you have a choice
deal or no deal????
hee hee hee
now that is what i call pay back time!!! :D:D
and here is that star:

Im sure there MUST be a number that would make me hand it over....And the issue of TRADE+ CASH has some real possibiltys too.....I DONT KNOW I DONT KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The real problem is the theme of my collection is ODDBALL 112s and a LACY sure fits that bill BUT DARRYLS HAS ONE!!!!!

That sure is one beautiful knife.

In a few years it will be worth twice as much as it is now.......and I bet the stuff you'd buy to replace it won't appreciate that fast.

Always keep the really prime stuff, I always say. Trade the other stuff.
