What are your thoughts on shoulder harness carry knives? I have been looking at the JSP Bladerigger Archangel 2, and the Lightfoot-JSP collaborations. Any owners of these knives like to share their thoughts? Is this a comfortable carry option? What other knives can you tell me about that offer this method of carry? Thank you.

All knives can be carried in a shoulder rig. If you are serious about carry then first find the knife that is right for you. Base this on the KNIFE and not just on the carry options that are included.

Once you find the right knife then have a rig made for it. It is not that costly to have done. Check out Survival Sheath Systems. Rob can make up a rig that is just right for you.

To shoulder carry or not?
It also depends a lot on the size of knife you are gonna carry too. It makes little or no sense to carry a small knife (that can easily be carried in a IWB sheath) in a shoulder rig that can easily conceal a much larger and more effective blade instead.

PS. Another school of thought out there is that if you are going through all that trouble to carry and conceal a knife that way, then why not just carry a PISTOL in the shoulder rig instead? Because while they look "cool" for knife carry, I'm just not sure they are all that practical out in the real world IMHO.

mostly in winter with a Jacket. I carry a CS master hunter upside down almost like a neck knife but under my shoulder. it works great and super fast!

I had a custom rig made for my SRK but traded it away, it was a 6" blade so it was comfortable.

one thing when I go camping and don't have a belt on the shoulder rig is great and convient.

I think that the shoulder rig is faster and less conspicuous to pull than some IWB designs.
