I've been promising these for a while but just got around to it. Here are the links to a few pictures of the Shoulder harness and a the horizontal sheath that Clay made for me. The Horizontal fits my BM42 and the shoulder harness fits my FHM. Contains 1 image that shows my naked stomach so if such images might offend you, ignore the first link.

The shoulder sheath is quite comfortable and hides well under a jacket. The Horizontal is comfortable and easy to hide under a loose fitting shirt. It is much more comfortable thatn my cell phone and I've yet to have anyone notice it and I wear it to college every day.

wow...real nice pieces...and you gave me a better idea on how to wear my bm sheath, on the belt but in the front not off the the side, that way it is even more consealed and comfortable too.

I've always been a fan of 'shoulder holsters' and I really like Clay's 'auto unlatcher' design. I ordered one from the Master and am anxiously awaiting its arrival! Around these parts, when the wind chill is -40`, it'll be real easy to keep a bali out of sight but at the ready!!! I'll try and get some pics up myself.
 
Yeah, the shoulder harness is wicked cool. It's suprisingly fast to draw from even when you have move your jacket. Once I got used to how to draw the knife I was walking around the house practicing my draw. "You feelin luck punk?"

The horizontal works very well next to my belt buckle. The buckle and first belt loop prevent the sheath from traveling and the first belt loop helps me to get the knife out without the sheath trying to tag along for a ride. Beautiful designs and very well thought out.

As for the tattoo, I had this desire to do something different, so I took a trip to the local parlor and saw a small version of mine hidden towards the back of a book. I knew it was the one (don't know if you can tell from the picture, but it's a dragon's face) and I knew it would look perfect centered between my shoulder blades. I've had it for more than a year and my parents still don't know (I'm old enough but I don't want to start any arguments with my parents over it). I think I paid $120 for it which is CHEAP for a piece of art that will last me a lifetime.

hey balisong lover, that is an awesome shoulder harness, i have never seen one for a knife before, thats cool, who is clay, and how can I get a hold of him, I would like him to make me a shoulder harness, for my busse lean mean street, that I am getting, i would really appreciate, take care, and thanks again for those awesome pics.

He is great to work with. I have a couple of his balisong sheaths and they are excellent pieces of work. He also custom made a sheath for one of my dad's knives, and he loves it as well.

and would it be possible to have a double shoulder harness?
 
Oh yeah, I can DO doubles. I'm going to do one for myself once (if) things slow down a little around here.

I figured a good way to mate two of the harnesses from The Edge Equipment, but prefer to use the same "jack-ass" rig mentioned in the post (follow the link in the above post). It's leather and crosses the back nicely.

Oh man, that shoulder rig is real sweet. The thought of a double Bali version is almost too much to take.

Clay, be SURE to tell me how that turns out. I'll have a good amount of money pretty soon and if it turns out ok I might be interested in purchasing one, given that you'd make it.

I'm in no rush whatsoever though, so dont worry about it.

I just really have to replace the cocoons

and I was wondering, Clay, if you ever did a double shoulder rig?

From that second picture posted, I got an idea. how hard/plausable would it be to make a double sheath like that? the tangs would basically meet right above the belt buckle. it'd work great for a cross-draw

The second picture is just a pic of his unexposed mid-section.

Are you actually talking about the bottom picture?? The horizontal across the front sheath?

Heh, I'm glad to see that people are still checking out this post. It lets newer user see what kinds of sheaths Master Clay can make and different ideas for carry.
 
I was thinking about how taking off your jacket would be problematic if you were wearing a harness, being that it'd reveal the harness...
Then I got to thinking, what if you had some extra clips on the harness, then some extra ones sewn onto the inside of your jacket? It might take maybe 15 seconds tops to plug it into the jacket, then you could simply remove the rig with the jacket.
I'm thinking the clips would be somewhere around the sleeves; one in front of the arm hole, one behind (on each side). do you think this would be comfortable enough to work?
