Shoulder Rigs (Knife)

Hondo, I have a couple shoulder rigs that I use on a regular basis. i have one made by John Greco and it came with a custom Whisper he made for me with Bone scales the Whisper(FIGHTER) is a long knife approx. 6 inch blade and it works great it is a nylon rig that you hook up to the sheath in an upside down carry. It is a very secure and comfortable setup, i have actaully adapted it to other knives i carry and it also works great. My second carry rig is a horizontal leather rig made by Bob Schrap and it is for my Spyderco Perrin Street Bowie it also is a nice setup. I find that they are very usaful when I am hunting or when i am carrying a sidearm. With a little practice they are pretty easy get at. While hunting they are GREAT because if you wear coveralls where the hell do you put your knife to get at it shoulder rig is great. I hope this helps.. By the way Bob Schrap will be at the Badger Knife SHow MArch 24, 25, 26, 2006.

I was out ice fishing yesterday and the day before. I was wearing a big down parka, and had no way of carrying a belt knife. It got me thinking that when I buy an RD7, or the new Camp Tramp, whenever it's finally released, I should get a shoulder rig made up so I can easily access it while wearing winter clothes.
