I had a conversation with one of you guys on shoulder rigs a couple weeks ago, and thought I'd share this to show something a little different.

This first one is a horizontal rig for a 3.5" Model 27. Sports a veg lining, thumbbreak, and shark trim. He did not want anything on the offside of this rig so I just embellished the joint on that side a little to accent.

The second is a pivot rig for a custom Glock 460 Rowland conversion. The problem with a horizontal holster for a long handgun is the barrel protrudes front and rear and this is worse the thinner the user is. A vertical rig is really hard to draw from because of the barrel length. On this you pop the snap on the clamshell to allow the holster to then pivot down on the draw. Simple and effective. Everything on this is also veg lined with an elephant overlay.

Last but not least is another pivot rig for a 3" 696 44 special. He wanted to be able to wear this one in field use or conceal carry which is why I chose the pivot style for it. It sports a reload on the offside and a bunch of basket weave. I even stamped the liner of the clamshell on this one just to see how it would do.

Wow Eagle those are great. That .44 grow a couple inches on the barrel and it'd look just like my 610. Beautiful work and photography. Closing in, sheaths only to do. Soon.....

Really nice, that's one of my favorite ways to carry. Yours is beyond what I use, but I love to carry "Miami Vice." Makes large caliber long slide/barrel so much more easy to carry daily. I've got my Glock 41 on me right now having tea with an LEO LT. First class rig you got there. I also really like that muzzle you have.

nice work!

Thanks!

Thanks Dave, there 696 is based on the smaller L-frame (same size as a 686/586) and as such is a 5 rounder. In that configuration they are just awesome packin' pistols in my favorite 44 special.

Very nice indeed. First class stamping.

Thank you sir!

I am drooling over that 696 and holster!!!

That one seems to be the pick from everyone. Some do turn out nicer than others!

Beautiful work and photos!

Thank you!

Thanks for the kind words! Currently shoulder carry seems to be out of 'vogue' but these things tend to go in circles. A lot of litigious minded folks also argue over the safety of horizontal carry considering where the muzzle is pointed. Seems some folks have too much free time on their hands.
