Shout out to the 112

I've been carrying a 110 for quite a while now as my main blade, alternating between a CS version with NS bolsters, oak & s30v and an Alaskan Guide. I recently got the C&C model with stag handles and the black oxide blade, which is at Buck right now to get some issues resolved, and when it's back will more than likely be my go to knife. Anyway, I'll get to the point....I was messing with some of my knives last night and I pulled out my plain ol' 112. I've always loved the way it feels, but it's taken a back seat to the 110 for a pretty long time. I decided to bring it out and throw it on my belt for the day and I'm glad I did. I've already used it quite a bit this morning and I've got to say, good for you little brother 112. I think it's such a great size and it really does feel comfortable even with bigger hands. I might start to carry one a little more often and even get an upgraded version (either CS or the lil jack). I got the black micarta s30v version from C&C and I basically spent $100 to find out I didn't really like the drop point all that much so it rarely gets carried. But, I'm enjoying carrying the standard version today and it goes to show you that good things can come in small packages. Big shout out to the 112 and to Buck in general for having two designs that are so well done that it's hard to chose between them...

Thanks for sharing! I love my 112 but it often takes a back seat as well. Not intentionally, it just seems to happen. I often overlook it in the mornings when I'm grabbing my EDC stuff, but that should change. I definitely have the same appreciation. I think I might just carry mine today, too. :D

Every time I carry it, I wonder why I don't more often. Then I pick up a 110 with s30v and that kinda answers for me. Time to get a 112 with s30v.....with a clip point and natural handles this time

I only have a couple of standard 112's but I carry it quite often. I alternate between 110s and the 112s. One of those 112s has served me well for 39 years.

The 112 is the first Buck I ever bought, way back in 1983. It is a great knife. The 500 Duke is about the same length but slimmer.

I'm new to Bucks, but am really digging the 112. I'm hoping we see an aluminum version pop up because I'm loving the 110 in aluminum.

I don't remember how long I been carrying this every day.

Must be about 30 years or more.

VR - How do you like the finger grooves? I always wanted to try them out on a 112...

TAH - That looks fantastic. Lots of character on that and the brass is awesome looking...

Finger grooves DO give you a little better grip on the knife--but I think the biggest allure is that they just look a little different--and a little better, at least to my eye.

Thanks JD. For some reason, the brass on my '77 110 doesn't patina as even (front and back bolsters tarnish differently). I wonder if it's the sintered vs. forged thing?
