Came across these as a lot on that auction site. All shop 1 made around 2001-2003. 2 by Amtrak and the Kobra by Kumar.

They all need a good polishing and some leather conditioning but they are all virtually unused. I'm always happy when I can grab older HI blades and give them a good safe home.

18" 19.5oz Kumar Kobra with a horn handle.

18" 17.5oz Chainpuri with a wood handle.

20" 26oz Sirupate with a wood handle.

great finds man! I love the older blades as well, great for the collection sir!

Very nice db! Love to see the old ones with the earned patinas. That Chainpure has a nice pommel and all of them have well defined shoulders! Very sexy feature in my opinion:thumbup:

Good pic and Knives, thank you for sharing

Agree with NDog and GB, That chainpuri the hilt just is outstanding. It amazes me with it's beauty. Glad you were able to adopt them into a good home.

I also just received a khukuri that I got from that auction site, but it's not an HI, and it has no markings of any kind:

This cute little khukuri is 31" long, and weighs 4 lbs 15 ounces. It has age patina and I removed some surface rust, but there is pitting in several areas. The blade looks like it was nicely polished at one point. The scabbard is obviously old and has wear in several areas, and has no chape or frog, or any indication that it ever had them, since there is faint tooling that runs down to the tip where a chape would have been, and the leather does not appera different under where a frog would have been. I'm guessing that this is one of the blades made by a regimental kami for the sacrifice of large animals like a water buffalo?

The Seattle Seahawks have Beast Mode, you definitely without question have Beast Khukri!

My oh my that thing is a beast.

From what little I know I'd have to agree with your prediction on the animal sacrifice ritual theory.

Either that or the Gurka's had a few very large fellows amongst them that they kept under wraps.

I have one just like it, bob. Also from that auction site.
Faintly marked on left side "india"
From what I understand these were the old style "buff head" khukuri that our biggest competitor used to sell as their own.
More of a curiosity than anything.
