Hi,

the Gayle Bradley Air is a deceptive lightweight gentleman silent companion.
It's easy to be fooled by its exquisite design.
BUT again this is a wolf dressed as a lamb and this little folder got a strong blade (CPM M4) and easy to clean handle. An handle big enough to be gripped by four fingers.
This knife can get really dirty and be used in harsh condition.

So, even if this is not the folder you will use for batonning, it will be a folder wich can be use much harder than it looks.

Show us some pics of this gentleman farmer knife.

cheers
Nemo

Awesome pics. Is that a chaparral and sage 1 in the first/second pic? And what knife is that with the red handle? (sorry im new)

Yup you got it right on the first, the "red" handle knife is actually burgundy I blame my camera ......its not the greatest. Its the Spyderco Calypso Jr. really one of the sought after Spydies, you can find one if you really search hard. The first pic also has the Caly Jr. its right in the middle.

And of course, Welcome to BF :) Welcome to the Spydie forums, in a year you won't have any savings left :D

Ooooh, those color combinations are really working for me.

Now, a nice Spyderco and some x39... sounds like a good time.

Not to hijack, but that looks more like x51 to me. Of course I'm looking at it on my phone right now, and I could be easily mistaking.

Hmmm, on second glance I think you're right!

That's funny because now that I'm home and I'm looking at the pic on my monitor, those rounds look roughly the same length as the blade, If the blade length of the Air is 2.56" that would put the OAL of the round at approx. 2.5" and since it's a non-tapered casing, it must be a 5.56 x 45, i.e. an AR-15 round. Sure looked a lot bigger on my phone earlier today! ;) I'll go out on a limb and say that they are Wolf brand as well. Just my $0.02

Thx for the info and the welcome! And yeah i started about 2 weeks ago and already bought 10 spydercos and own 12 total....haha.

I think the biggest problem with the Air is the competition from the Chapparal! I wanted the Air first, but I bought the Chapparal as it was in stock(and at a great price). As much as I like wharncliffes(and my desire to try M4), the Air just got farther down on my list due to the greatness of the Chapparal.

The Air is an awesome knife. It's Spyderco perfection.
Here's mine:

Haha you've already become the typical BF member....many of us go by the motto "Why choose between two, when you can buy both." :D

I only have 9 Spydies :(

I honestly couldn't agree more, the Chaparral is extremely versatile and has seen more pocket time out of all my Spydercos despite my resentment for the back lock.

The Air is more of a luxury knife, I just don't have the heart to use it and will be my safe queen for now.
