I am looking to get my ZT 0303 modified to have a sharper/pointier tip but don't exactly know what I'm looking for yet. I would love to see some pictures of ZT 300s with modified blade shapes. Any advice, and especially pictures will be much appreciated! Thanks!

I always wanted to see how a tanto type blade would work on the 0300 maybe not the American tanto maybe a less angled version could work

I like the SKD, but I'm looking for something different for my 303. I bet the tanto would look nice, if the recurve was straightened out first. I was thinking about a nice clip point (upswept like my Emerson CQC-13) or rounding the spine and flattening out the edge near the tip so the top half of the blade resembles a 200.

There out there, I have seen them modded in the past....IIRC it was on Ron's forum.

I finally came up with a design that I like. I am going to have my blade modified to resemble the 200 blade shape. I just really love the way it looks in my rendering, and it looks very functional. I talked it out with a small company that will be doing the mods for me and I am very happy with what we discussed. I will have the blade reshaped and refinished, the tiger stripes (as sexy as they are) will be removed and a stonewashed finish will replace them (They're also going to stonewash the pocket clip:D). This company will also modify my Emerson CQC 13 at the same time... Which means I will not have EITHER of my EDCS!!! After getting rid of all my other knives these two are all I have left until my preordered ZT 562CF come in and my Custom fixed blade is made. My Emerson will be having its handle reshaped to fit a larger grip, and the blade will be refinished in full stonewash (not just the flats with a grinder satin on the bevels like it is now). I like the two tone finish, but I'm starting to scratch up the satin, and I LOVE stonewashed finished blades. In fact, I already talked to them about stonewashing the ZT 562CF that I have on preorder, which has the EXACT same two tone finish that my CQC 13 has. I am very excited and thought I would share my excitement with the forum. I won't be shipping the knives off for a couple of weeks, but when I get them back I'll snap some photos (or rather have my Wife snap some photos that way they won't come out all 'abstract') and see what you guys think.

I know at least one person will wonder, "why have your ZT 303 modified to look like a 200? Just buy one!" Well the answer is, I don't really like the 200.. I love the blade shape, (especially love the KW version) the handle is comfortable and ergonomic, BUT it is WAY too thick for me. I had one and sold it right away because it took up too much pocket space, it stuck way out of my pocket, and would smack into everything I walked too close to. But other than that its a great knife. But on the other side of that coin, I love my 303, especially the handle. It feels so nice in the hand and the F&F is great and the blade steel is great, so having the blade shape modified to make it more functional and a better all around EDC (for me) is worth the very good price to get it modified.

Nice Jball, sweet!

Ares, I always wondered how a reverse tanto would look on a 300 (or a 350)
