I have had a hankering for a damascus knife for as long as I have been collecting, but I have a habit of using everything I own, so I have been apprehensive about buying some damascus.

I have been looking at some damascus Sebenzas lately, or at least adding a Devin Thomas damascus blade to mine, but I havent seen any photos of what well used damascus looks like.

I have heard that Devin's damascus is very functional, but I havent heard any reviews on how well the etching design stands up to light to medium use.
I dont plan on batoning, prying or cutting metal with my blade, so negligence can be ruled out as a factor, but I do use my Seb as a food prep knife regularly at work and home, and make sure to wash it whenever it contacts highly acidic foods. If you do have some opinion on how the steel performs, please share!

Long story short, SHOW ME SOME USED DAMASCUS! Im not looking for Sebs only, all used damascus is cool with me!

I have been asking in the Chris Reeve sub-forum, but it seems that those damascus Sebs havent seen much use, as no one will post a photo.

Thanks in advance guys, I know someone out there will have what Im looking for!

Sorry, I won't receive my first Damascus knife for a few more days, but it's definitely a user.

If you want to put some damascus through its paces without messing up a sebbie, do what I did and pick up a Kershaw Skyline :D

I carry a stainless damascus slipjoint. The most serious damage to the damascus is from pocket wear from the other metal stuff in my pocket, including a Gerber clutch. There are some scratches but they are difficult to photograph.

So are the stainless damascus blades more durable than the carbon ones?

Couldnt you re-etch the carbon damascus once it wears?

Only been using this one for a week or so - Caswell EDC has damasteel blade hardened by BOS to 61 RHC. Great edge ( don't know whether to thank Joe or Steve or both for this?) .Gotta be honest -as long as it keeps cuttin -won't care if the finish wears off?
