Like to take a fixed blade (or 2, or 10...) outdoors and monkey around? Then show us whatcha got!

Always love seeing how people carry their stuff: standard sheath in leather or kydex, elaborate piggyback rigs, extra pouches sewn or snapped on for sharpening gear and tinder, etc.

Also curious what people pair together (sizes, blade shapes, steel types...) for different use cases.

It's not polite to ask without first showing us yours...

Haha, fair enough! At least I don’t have to take you all to dinner first ;)

Saving this spot til I get home. I don’t have anything too crazy... just a LTWK Genesis I haven’t done much with yet in the original sheath. He does make a helluva knife though!

Edit to include pic:

Thought might be fun to pick up one of LT's smaller offerings and have a custom piggyback sheath built for the Genesis, smaller knife, fire steel, and small pocket for a sharpener...

Decided not to wait until you got home. lol

For years I carried my Buck 102 Woodsman anytime I was camping or hunting. First real fixed blade I ever bought when I was about 13-14 as I recall. From getting a fire going to cleaning birds or deer, it handles it all just fine. Sorry I only have a stock photo of that and don't have shots of either one's leather sheath. With apologies to the Kydex crowd, It's go leather or go home for me. If I'm out in nature, nature's gonna accompany me whenever possible.

Later I switched over to this Cabela's Tree Brand knife in the mid 80's due almost entirely to the magical draw of a drop point. Wasn't until last year or so that I realized this was made for Cabela's by Boker in Germany. So suddenly, my Boker collection grew by one. My only German made Boker. Most of my others are from Argentina.
I haven't hunted in years but am getting the urge to go again. Now if the body would just cooperate. Since my last trip, I got the knife bug. Who knows what's going to be on my hip then. I now have so many new ones to choose from. If I stop buying knives for awhile I just might be able to afford an out of state tag.

Carried a Kabar USMC from the age of 15 to 45yrs. Gifted it to my nephew when my wife surprised me with the RC6. I don't have any pics of that great knife.(Kabar) Sad.

Here's what I've purchased since.

L-R
RAT CUTLERY RC3 (RAT PACK 179)
Field dressing, get home bag.
Std. sheath w/Tek-lok

SPYDERCO SPRIG
Hiking, camping.
Std. sheath w/Tek-lok

RAT CUTLERY RC6
Truck knife, hiking, camping, whatever.
Std. sheath w/Tek-lok

KIFFE REPLICA WW1 BOLO
Camping, tree trimming
Homemade sheath

My usual suspects for camping are the Sprig and Bolo.
For hiking I like the Sprig or RC6, pared with a folder, depending on what I might be doing.
For hunting, usually the Sprig or RC3

Sometimes I just take'em all.:)

My BOB is a GI Tanto and stainless Mora companion. My main hiking bag is an Ontario SP-1 and an Ontario 12 Inch machete. And I always carry a Cold Steel Finn Wolf folder on my side and a hideout neck knife.

Took this setup on my last trip: Silky folding saw, Bradford Guardian 4, Junglas 2. Junglas 2 is a great knife and good chopper, but with sheath, adds 2 pounds to your loadout. Looking at a lighter, smaller blade that's still capable of doing a little chopping when needed. Ordered an Ambush Alpha and plan to try that out in place of the Junglas next trip.

This is one of my favorite rigs for hiking. The knife is a Winkler Field Knife and the hatchet and sheath are by an unknown maker. John of JK Knives made the leather pouch which contains a few essential items and a PSK style blade that John made. I can't understand why John's PSK didn't gather more attention: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/personal-survival-knife.1335397/
In addition to this I usually have a Vic Farmer in my pocket and a handgun on my side.

That PSK in the link looks nice. Was sad to see the post was from 2015 :(
