That is beautiful! Hows the fit and finish compared to GEC?

Seems the Ebony model goes for more than the bone handled variants. That is interesting.

Got me one in chestnut peachseed...

It is a very nice knife. Fit & finish is on par with Great Eastern, which is extremely tough to beat, imo. The Coffin Jack really shines in terms of materials and aesthetic flourishes. A more affordable alternative would be the GEC #15 (the GEC is thinner too, btw) but if you love the looks of the Coffin Jack I say you ought to scoop one up!

I have 5 of the #15s now (Barlows though). I love the look of that Ebony Coffin. Still not sure why it is more expensive than the bone covered version.

If it wasn't for my Tribal Spear, the coffin jack would be my favorite. Great little knife, excellent fit and finish.

I need to get some pics up.

Wow, that GEC 15 is a close match.

I've been debating on picking up a Case/Bose Coffin Jack. I do have a GC #15 Boy's knife on the way.

Once the Coffin Jack gets in your noggin, it's tough to shake the notion of getting one! Everything about the knife just feels 'deluxe.' Not a stiff pull, but smooth and sure, nice half-stops on both blades, good factory edges, excellent f&f. I'm happy with my chestnut covers but that ebony looks mighty fine!

Please excuse the one-hander in this pic (it's the best photo I have of the Coffin Jack scales.)
