I'm setting up an office and furnishing it from the ground up. This is the first time that I won't have office furniture already in place and have the opportunity to pick out my own desk/furniture.

I'm particularly interested in desk and what styles you guys find appealing. I want something that does not look cheap and I'm willing to pay for quality. So any ideas or welcome. Pics encouraged.

Odd request, I know. But I figure some of you have nice offices that you've furnished.

Picked up this bad boy for $15 a few weeks ago.

That's a good deal. Brings back bad memories for me though. :D

Search Amazon for Vari Electric Standing Desk 60" x 30". It's a modern style, no drawers, but it's extremely stable with a nice surface. You can move it up and down with a button and store 4 heights. I rarely stand at it and it includes comfortable sitting heights in its range. I use it for work, but do a little knife making finish work on it occasionally.
I'm very happy with it, but it's annoying to see that they seem to want $850 for it now. I only paid $600.

The more I look into desk the more I think this might be the best route for me. Even if I never stood at it, I wouldn't have to worry about chair or arm height.

Yeah, another guy who works with me ordered one also and he likes it just as much.
Ultimately I rarely adjust the height, but it's a great large surface. It's probably sturdier than the bench in my workshop.

Here's my setup circa January. The table is a butcher block from lumber liquidators stained dark cherry, with legs from Amazon. I have two 32s now, and I moved the cork boards, so it looks a little different now.

I found a used Steelcase Leap at a random used office furniture store in Atlanta and it's been super great.

I had a white plastic folding table for quite awhile. I recently built a new desk for myself. The top is a butcher-block top laminated from pieces cut from pine 2x6, the legs are laminated from pieces cut from pine 1x6. The top is the natural wood color with clear poly on it, the legs are painted black for contrast. It measures 24" x 72". I could have bought a butcher block top from Floor and Decor and bought some metal legs from Amazon, but if I'm going to call myself a beginning woodworker then I should be able to build something myself. The table is big enough for 2 22" wide screen monitors and a desktop computer.

I love the lapel pin collection. I have 5 of those hung up in my bunker.

That's a unique desk. I was scrolling through this thread looking at photos and not reading much text or who posted. When I came to this one I stopped to check it out, and I thought "I wonder if that belongs to...". Sure enough it did.

Same for me, except I didn't have to wonder about it. I imeediately knew.

The desk is an antique sewing desk, 1/4 sawn oak.
I mostly stand, but the Aeron is comfortable for sitting.

There is an inversion table to the right, and the cat tower is an ineffective way to keep the critters off the desk.

The air purifier filters the air and gives a nice white noise.
