Anyone with a Grohmann fixed blade or folder? Show me.

So far I have a leaf bladed small folder (for camping) and a great little slim folder (always in my pocket and great for food prep and some bushcraft so far). Hoping to pick up a fixed blade for my backpack this week.

Here's a few I own. The bottom one is from JK Knives...

This is a D.H Russell knife that looks like a Grohmann to me..It is a hearty knife and takes a fine edge and holds it...I rehandled in Samba.. FES

I was using a Grohmann as a test subject for building a light tent. Here are some resulting photos as my 'skill' progressed(?).

Maybe someday I'll get the hang of it.

Kind of funny this thread should pop up as my brother recently discovered the pastime of bow hunting (wild turkey this year). Also with some long time nudging from me, the usefulness of a good knife (or 2 or 3 or....).
He went online shopping and texted me some time later with these beauties.

Having never owned one of these style knives, I have a question. I use Fes' photo for an example.

The thing that stands out to me about this design is the roughly 7° angle between the blade and handle.
It should give extra clearance for your hand when used on a cutting board for food prep, or when reaching inside a carcass for gutting.

Those of you who use this design, please give your experience of the benefits-- I'm intrigued.

The unique quality of the Grohmann knives most often commented on is the ergonomics - the handle shape more than the angle. Many people don't seem to care for it, but those that do like it really like it.

Agreed. On first impression, Grohmanns have a different feel in the hand than many other, more conventional designs. I think this puts some people off, but after you use one for a while, the light bulbs start going off and the amount of subtle design that has gone into it becomes apparent.

My #2 "Bird & Trout," which has proved its usefulness on everything from grouse to elk:

I don't have to be within 100 miles of a Canadian belt knife (and as far as I know I haven't been) to know in my soul that I'd absolutely love one.

Just beautiful designs those Grohmanns. Certainly on my (knife edition) must-have bucket list.

Love the pics. You guys have talent!
