I am going on my first wild hog hunt in January. I decided to build a hog rifle from a box of parts and have it match one of my favorite Bussekin.

Before and after pics coming.

Please show off your hunting rifles and Bussekin pics. Ohio deer season starts tomorrow. Hunt all day....build rifle (or butcher hopefully) at night this week.

The beginning:

Completed Hog Rifle: 6.8 SPC

I have only hunted wild hog once in my life but between the three rifles I took.. the M14 (m1a) was the best hog hunter for me hands down! Love the fat Ash as well!!

This one has seen more use in the past year than my others...

Though this Sako is my usual companion..

Dang Andy, that is a beauty of a rifle man, is that a Sauer? (first picture) It looks German to me, what caliber is that beast? Awesome pics as always!

.... thanks mate, it is an early 70's Winchester M70 in .375H&H. It has had the 2pc aluminium trigger guard and floor plate replaced with a Williams steel 1pc Obendorff style assembly. I bought the rifle in 1983 and gave it some TLC (refinished the stock, new bottom metal, new mounts etc) in 2013 in anticipation of a visit to Africa. Before I left it was throwing three shot cloverleaf groups at 100yds with my load of choice. I could not have been happier with how it performed !!

Thanks Andy, I had no idea Winchester made that rifle in that caliber, it sure is beautiful man; and I believe the accuracy, that's awesome for that old rifle!! I love winchesters.

Yup. Made the sling out of USA made paracord. Thanks. 100% made in Merica!

And thanks for the answer zombieassassin (I just noticed the spelling in your name, cool); I'm a paracord enthusiast also, good job, looks comfy. Awesome rifle too. :)

.... I am no Winchester expert mate but I *think* some of the very first (if not the first) pre-64 Model 70s were produced in .375H&H and .300H&H. Both great rounds. The .375 is truly a marvelous round..!!!
