Hello all, just want to get some ideas how the RAT NATION attaches lanyards to their RC 3 mil spec both knife and sheath-send pics if possible so I can get some ideas. My knife is in the mail and I should get it by tomorrow, I have 100' of OD 550 cord to play around with.

Thanks in advance.

I have a photographic copy of an old lanyard i did. I don't use hem personally, unless i was up in the air, or under the water, I don't necessarily tie these things to me.

its about two feet long the idea is you fold it over your belt, and loop around the button knot, any knife could be made to attach to this one.

By photgraphic copy, i mean i still have the knots and the progression instructions on how to make it. I'm not sure, its been years, but i think i started out with around 100' of 550 cord as well.

Could you please post the tutorial or how to for this? It looks rely great, and i would like to have one too :)

OK. I will get it scanned and post it somehow.

If there are any other ideas out there I would like to see them. Thanks in advance.

I think most folks around "here" would likely just tie a piece of single 550 cordage to the knife for the time they needed it.

You would likely get a better responce movng this or asking it over in maintanence and embelishments forum. they talk about knots and stuff all the time. Embellishment forum

If you really want to put together a lanyard, spend $40 bucks and buy the Ashley's Book of knots. It is the exhaustive text on knot tying, with many different braids and sinnets fitting the bill for a nice lanyard. A little practice and you will putting together your own projects using several knots in series.
