Something about the Seax makes me want to pillage and plunder...

Lol, loot and plunder. Just been reading about the sax in a new book I bought on knives, daggers and swords.

I've always liked the Seax but sadly have never gotten one. I know Hanwei makes one but never looked into it too much.

I have an Imacasa machete I've been thinking about cutting down into a seax. Every time I see them I dig them more and more. I used to hate them.

Hi guys, glad you like it. That particular seax is made from a file, just as pictured. Wrought iron fittings, madrona burl. About 17" OAL, maybe 12" BL, 3/16 thickness. More pics and info over at Don Fogg's website bladesmiths forums (Phil Ullrich), I think I have some shots of the build there.
