Alright, so I have been wearing this for about 4 years now w/ the same band here in MN.
In the summer it's muggy and my wrist gets wet and my watchband is dirty and heavy...
I'm not even sure how to deal w/ the pins that this one has. I have never attempted to remove the band. I always appreciated the stoutness of the attachment point to the band. I may like a thick mesh, sharkproof band or NATO in leather.
Lets see what you have out there...
thanks.

Remove the band with a spring bar tool. Bergeon makes the best ones, $16–$17. Bergeon 6767-F is for removing metal bracelets.

If you'll be using it one time only, buy a junker wherever you buy a new watchband. Some dealers throw one in free.

Shark mesh is good, my advice is do not buy one that you have to cut (unless you enjoy metal work). Get a cheap shark mesh with an adjustable buckle, like this:

That is the reverse side. The arrow points to a pivoting bar: flip it up with a little screwdriver and you can side the buckle up or down the bracelet for your fit. It's simple enough but I couldn't figure it out without this photo. You can buy these from Russia or China on the internet, $10–$12. Make sure you order the right width, measure your bracelet (probably 20mm or 22mm). Will not protect your wrist from sharks.
