-en handled knives, that is. I'm thinking of making some scales, and I'm looking for inspiration, so what better opportunity to share some pictures of your favorite wood handles, scales, inlays, etc. Bonus points if you tell us what kind of wood it is.

lambertiana, those are some beautiful knives. I've always admired Ray's incredibly simple designs (plus I love full flat grinds). Here's my meager offerings, not nearly as sexy.

Both, really. I'm looking for inspiration, but any advice that you guys have from working with exotics would be appreciated.

Buck Vantage Pro with ash scale




Ash is really easy to work on, and it looks pretty nice with it's straight grain. I'm almost done with a scale made of the maple burl in the photo. It's beautiful, but it's a little harder to work with than the ash although it is still relatively easy.
