Gollnick, I've been looking at the Balisong sites. It's about time someone gave a review of the Veintenueve, (Giant Balisong). Since Mike hasn't done one yet, I'll give it go.

I just spent over three hours under 2000 Watts of lights taking pictures including some of that very piece. So, I'll be putting those up as well as some more comments about this great piece shortly.

The really nice thing about this knive is that it's 27" open. That's the same length as "standard" sticks used in Kali/Arnis classes.

Oh, and look for the picture "in the vault" to change shortly too.

Smoke, you mean "bente nueve", or "29"... I don't know if that means 29 inches open or not, but as Chuck mentioned, it' around 27"?

Not sure, but here, we often call it either "bente singko" 25 or "bente nueve" 29.

I really should try and take a picture of that Grand-daddy balisong I saw displayed on one of the balisong booths in Batangas.

Man, that one is as big as a sword! hehehe..

Dan

Dannyc, yes I mean 29 which refers to the notion that you could stab 29 men in one motion with the knife. Pinoy humor.

Here is a link to mine what I have and what I have on order. Some will be delivered, and a couple of them may not. Guess which one those two are. Here is what I have: show.http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=121270&a=889153 I don't actually have the Apogee, but it should be here very shortly. It's the Millenium apogee #5 of 5.
And here is what's on order. http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=121270&a=1403537

I just realized that I no longer have a solid blade Q but I do have a Delica II.

Danny,

I have one with a 29" blade. Open, the thing is about five feet long! I'm told that there is a manipulation art for these large balisongs, but I haven't found any instruction.

Chuck, I haven't found any instruction for it either. To be frank, I see it as more of a weapon. I think icepick fashion is best for 1 hand but 2 hands in forehand is safer like peeling a banana. I'll mail you my review if you like.

Mr. Smoke,

I would certainly be interested in your review and thoughts.

I have a favorite one that's 27" long overall open. I like it because the "standard" sticks used in FCA training are about 27" long. so everything translates perfectly.

Chuck, I'll mail it soon, still working on the review.

David, that is so tempting, I am starting to want to get a knife kit.
