Well Im really excited about my newest CRK acquisition and thought Id do a little show n tell.
Its a '96 Original Large Sebenza with ATS-34 steel. I guess this sebenza was made a little
after CRK stopped putting the "P" designation on their sebenzas. Im not sure when the pocket
clip was introduced but this knife does have a pocket clip and the thumbstud has seven ridges.
The thing I most like about the earlier sebenzas is the great blade shape and beatiful polised steel.
Ive always liked the 21's handle more and the regulars blade profile. So this knife kinda gives
the best of both worlds. Im having a hard time deciding to put this knife in my EDC rotation but
that blade is begging to be used. It was a hard decision to sell my Large Starbenza for this knife
but so far Im having no regrets. =)

I like the frosted screws. They match the titanium more than polished ones.

Thanks all. Its always nice to show something your proud of to other people who know and appreciate what a Sebenza is all about.
When I show someone at my work or family member they just look at me with a puzzled look like " whats so great about that." =p

That's an outstanding purchase, Evan. Congrats. You probably got one of last Originals CRK put out.

BTW, you have a package headed your way. ;)

I just really like the 'P' Sebenzas and it is cool to see one so pristine. That being said I would understand if you put it to work, maybe some light duty at least so you could really enjoy those great ergonomics.
Yeah, I am definately in my own world around my house when it comes to knives...Lol.

Some things I noticed when I was taking apart this knife for a cleaning and re-lube are the washers are both the same size and on the smaller side. And the part of the blade that the washers rest on has been polished to a mirror finish. Ats-34 really does polish up nice. Also the blasted finish on the titanium handles is a smoother silkier texture. I really like the feel and look of it.

Thanks Dallas, now I know why you like those older sebenzas so much. =)

That is one thing that is really cool about these blades, just how highly finished/polished they are.
The other thing I like about the ATS-34 is how fast it takes a hair popping edge.

Cool knife, well done on a nice catch.

ATS34 does polish up nicely, that is one reason why a lot of customs are made with that steel.

I always reblast my CRK's to achieve that same finish, or at least come as close as I can. Congrats on a great score.
