With Emerson moving to stand offs on some of his models, I have a feeling there may be an increase in custom CQC7 backspacers and full pimp jobs on the knife. I am interested in opinions on my backspacer but more importantly I am interested is seeing other peoples CQC7 backspacer mods and full pimp jobs. To me, it's hard to take such a understated, plain knife and customize it without it looking gaudy. I did my best but I kinda want some other options for future mods.

Here's mine. Black and Ghost Jade G10. I left the standoffs inside the backspacer. It gave the backspacer a cool striping look where the ghost jade is thinner from drilling out the holes from the backspacer. A few people I talked to didn't like the whiter areas of the Ghost Jade, but I do. Unless I am just convincing myself that it doesn't look screwy. My second choice would have been replacing the ghost jade with moon glow, but I don't have any.

That backspacer looks really nice! I like the color combo and would totally rock that on my 7s!

Really? ...Sweet! Finally some positive reinforcement. I'd like to make some others, however out of my 6 modern/tactical folders only the CQC7 and techno have backspacers. I don't have many other good ideas. I do have some black dyed maple burl I may try though.

I made these a while back... They really changes the feel of the knife, a little funky sure but the retention factor went up exponentially.

Also had it done so that the lanyard hole is only on the lock side, and thru the backspacer.

Years ago, I owned several very nice Reese Weiland modified 7s.
