Hey Hogs,

This thread is a welcome place for any and all Busse/Bussekin Slicers --- I'll start it off by showing some love to the SYKCO Skinner!!

Damn that looks good, what did you use to reprofile edge? Really like the skinner, wish would have been .15"-.12" thickness instead instead of .18" though. As many a Busse, tip is to thick for my liking. Still plenty useable. Thinned out tip some but still have to do more.

Borderline gross pic but Fing A this backstrap was tasty. Will probably use skinner skinning not so skinny deer this year.

Cheers!!! The piece of meat looks prime and proper --- the Skinner is a fine tool to handle any chores ---- Kitchen or Outdoors.

I reprofiled mine on the Wicked Edge Field & Sport Pro + Accessory stones/strops. I spent a LOT of time reprofiling this one near the tip. It was ground so thick --- but now it's just --- effortless. This design, the weight, and once it's properly reprofiled and then sharpened --- it just responds differently. Great blade -- Great design --- and at 3/16ths thick --- multiple applications.

Yours I'm sure already performs better without the coating --- how does it feel in general?

Definately want to get my edge on tip reprofiled like yours. Is thinner than was already but could be improved for sure.Is indeed nice knife. I'm hoping when o2w starts again they offer bunch more anorexic skinnys, hunters/skinners 4-6" blades. Or just ground the tips thinner on everything. Only complaint with quite a few Busses is the THICK tips.

Night and day difference with coating gone. The moss is an especially rough textured coat, looks great though.

I used a KME at 20 degrees but only took it to 1500 grit then stropped, that mirror edge on Rob_Mob's is amazing.

Need to strip it at least partially though, like Ulf said the moss green looks great but it's also pretty rough. Makes me think of a pebbled surface.

The edge bevel around the tip definitely gets chased back a lot using an even angle.

I completely re-did the black paper handle on the black handled Muk, it was big a "ropey" and felt wrong and nearly impossible to maneuver with such a large handle plus extra raised "rope" ridges...now it is more like smooth bone and very streamlined...

Lookin good fellas. Really wish I would have ordered a Chophouse and Skinner[emoji17]

Where to begin? lol :D I have a few. Here's a 2nd gen Howling Rat that I stripped, blued, and convexed. One of my favorites!

This Swamp Warden has seen its fair share of blood over the years. It was stripped, put into boiling vinegar a few times for an etch, and of course, nicely convexed.

This is my favorite. Custom-made per my request specifically for usage as a skinning knife. Looks a bit like the classic Sharpfinger. Of course, upon receipt I cleaned up the blended zero-edge to a mirror polish. This one gets scary sharp, and holds an edge nicely too. Of course, it's no longer this shiny. :)

Honorable mention (and some design influence to the knife above) goes to this fully convex ground, spear-point custom shop Rodent Solution on the bottom.

Next up, the Scrapmax 460. Punches WAY above its weight class, both figuratively and quite literally too.

And the sweet custom leather that Dwayne hooked me up with for it.

And then there were two. Busse (and kin) Elmax is severely underrated IMO. They're great slicers! I do kind of wish that Busse would do some thicker Elmax sometime. HACKtive Duty and HACK Warden.

Another HACK Warden.

That's all I see in the bucket for now. :D Pretty sure I have a few others hangin' around that I don't have pictures of. Maybe later. Enjoy!
