I've always wanted a Kershaw Trooper dagger but never could bring myself to spend that on a non-user...this thread makes me want one just to admire :(

That is one of the most beautiful blades I've ever seen! Totally my taste.
If I may be so bold to ask, where did you get such a gem and how much would it set someone back?

are daggers not illegal in canada?? i thought they were for some reason. if not i may have to get one

Daggers are legal to own in Canada.

The catch is that a law enforcement officer, can, at their sole discretion, deem any knife to be a weapon, confiscate it, and possibly press charges.

The grey area is; when is a knife no longer a tool, and thus considered a weapon.

So, owning a dagger is no problem, but if you are planning on carrying it, good luck trying to convince a police officer it is a handy dandy pocket tool.

Therefore they are really only suitable for collecting purposes in Canada.

If you are out in the bush carrying a double edge skinner may be feasible, but in any urban environment it would be a risky carry.

This is a Mountain Man Dagger by Bark River Knife and Tool. This particular one has Desert Ironwood Burl handles with Mosaic Pins.

Bark River produces their knives in limited runs, so I'm not sure if you will find one available with similar handles or not, You may have to wait and see if they do another run of these next year.

I don't remember what I paid for this one, it was between $150 - $250 usd. The prices vary depending on what handle material and pins are used for each individual knife.

You can check the Bark River vendor sites to see what is available.
