Here's what it will look like when you get it:

And if you choose to spruce the scales up with some mineral oil:

Holy overexposure, Batman! ;)

They look vastly different and definitely more muted in person. Digital cameras pull colors better than our eyes.

THe striations are correct, but both of my satins came with almost a uniform color that was extremely UNDERwhelming from the store. One I left alone - probably to sell later. The other I sanded w/crocus cloth (in one direction only) and then coated with gunstock oil. It came out very orange'n'black.

I wish the striations were backwards. All orange with stripes of black. THAT woulda been a cool Warden.

I have the satin tiger and I don't think the tiger micarta on it looks as near as good as the micarta on the New Tiger warden.

Bet if you took a small round file and made channels similar to that of the "groove warden" mod (you can do a search for groove warden)... you will get the effect you're looking for.

.

Here's a non-artsy pic of the oiled tiger scales. The second pic in my previous post is a form of post-processing called the "Orton". You take a blurred and highly overexposed image, and overlay a sharply focused and only slightly overexposed image. The result is fine details with a sort of "aura" around everything.

Those are all blacktiger wardens,.. a tiger warden is satin like these below. The color of the grip difference, is some people soak mineral oil into the micarta to bring out the colors, and maybe seal it a bit. (I wonder what tung oil would be like, as it polymerizes quickly (forms a shell)- i often use it for wood stock refinishing)...

The mineral oil will help, may take several applications.

They handles will not look like the new Tiger GW's though.
The satin is from a much diff batch of tiger micarta than the blacks are.

I still love the satin better overall because of satin blade.
