PICS REQUIRED!!!

my hiking combo is a bark river liten bror and vic hiker, when camping i throw in a machete axe or saw depending where i am.

sorry for the crappy pic it was taken at night under a horribly old lamp.

I change up my knives all the time.. but right now I am loving my modified Bark River GamesKeeper 2, and I always have a ckc hiker.

I've gone through a range of knives for hiking/lite camping, but settled lately on the following. L-R below: Buck 110 - nostalgic choice - 7.2 oz; Benchmade 610 Rukus - large S30V blade - great package - AXIS lock - pocket filler - 7.9 oz; Benchmade 630 Skirmish - big knife - S30V/Ti framelock - 6.9 oz. The 610 joined the 630 recently in being discontinued, but likely will be easier to find.

I like my BMs - and many other pocketable choices. I have morphed through many a fb, too, for belt and pocketable sheath carry. Oddly, I always seemed 'prepared' with 'just' a Buck 110. Fine for many a walking sticks to cooking accessories. It's nice having a choice now, of course.

For a light day hike my EDC carry works fine, Vic Hiker JK Handmade AK EDC..

Or for a "real" hike or overnighter...Wetterlings 10", JK Handmade Hiker, Vic Hiker

Sorry for the crappy pic. I've been using a Bark River Canadian Special lately, coupled with a SAK or multitool (usually Vic Farmer or Wenger New Ranger).

I change my knives constantly, though. This weekend I'm going to try out my Spyderco Temperance 2.

One of these two, plus a SAK (Farmer is esp. good) -- Bark River Liten Bror and Mini Skinner:

Most day hikes, I'm cool with just a Koster Bushcraft and a SAK.

If I'm going more than a few miles into the woods, I pack a chopper and/or wood saw.

What happens if I don't post a pic? :D

I too like to try out different knife combos when I go out. Here are a few of my favorites:

My newest favorite combo... SwampRat Rodent Waki, BR Bravo necker, and Leatherman Wave.

when I'm feeling Swedish... Fallkniven Thor, and a SAK

when I'm feeling nostalgic... Riflemans Hawk, Larado Bowie, and my Grandfathers old Barlow

back when I was on a tight budget, these are my cheep but effective blades... Waki machete, Gerber Axe, Becker Necker, nameless water beater knife, and I almost always carry some Gill Hibben throwers... cuz I likes to throw'em, and they do take a decent edge and make great beaters.

bryfry who made that hawk? its awesome!!!

the fob lanyard on my wenger there is my EDC one, when hiking in have a longer lanyard with a wrist loop.

wow that's some nice work you done to it...I have a RMJ forge singman but I don't like using it too much, its made for hard use but its just too nice and collectible to use. So I'd love to do something like that and make a usable hawk that i wont mind if i damage it during a hike/camping trip.

Thats a standard Queen Cutlery hunter sheath...D2 4" blade for $45 was pretty good, sharp as all hell after I honed the edge to my specs.
