I want to see your Krein Knives. Please post up your pics and maybe a story to go along. :D

My apologies for being too lazy to post pics, but I have to share my love for the Krein fixed blade.
I've enjoyed my PSK in A2 and Blue G10 since its birth in 2008.
Perfect to carry, use, and admire.

These are mine.....

The Kreined Busse CG-FBM is a fantastic knife and needs to be seen to be appreciated.........
Most of these were purchased through the "Green" forum but one or two from here as well.
3 came directly from Tom's hands at Blade...........

I hope you like them.........Steven:)

Tom makes a nice knife. I've let a few get away but these two are still mine.

I have a few and most all of mine came from Tom....his grinds are spot-on, his fit is excellent, and he can finish them out in many different ways.

This covers one-of customs, G10 knives, mid-tech knives, fancier knives, etc....all superb.

He has also been making folders and very fine ones at that....

I don't have a Krein knife, but he did relieve the scale and liner on my Gayle Bradley to give proper access to the Spydie hole and liner lock.

Rick,
That collection is absolutely insane!!! Mine is modest by comparison, but here it is. The TK-4 actually just arrived today.

Rick,
That collection is absolutely insane!!!

What can I say? I like Tom and his knives.

I've told this story before, but it bears repeating: Early in my days here, someone offered a very nice TK-1 with amber stag bone scales for a bargain price. I emailed them an "I'll take it" but did not post on the thread. Someone else came along with a post and they were deemed to be the first buyer. I made a mild stink but took it as a lesson learned and moved on. Tom contacted me and offered to make me a TK-1 for the same price, even though that was less than his catalog rate. I've been a fan ever since.

Someone once said that with custom knives, sometimes the maker is more important than the blade itself. Tom embodies that for me.

Yep, Rick that about sums it up. Tom is a great guy AND a great maker, and he's been more than just a little bit inspirational in my own knife making.

Great story, and it doesn't surprise me a bit:thumbup:

Again, that is a beautiful group of knives buddy!

I could not agree more!
If I don't like the maker I will NEVER buy a knife from them no matter how good they are. For me it is the same for factory knives re: ethics and service............

Great story about Tom. How many times I have seen a third party sales thread with one of Tom's knives for sale and out of the blue Tom posts something like.....

If you buy this you can send it back to me for a free clean up and resharpen

He does not have to do that.......but he does.

(Hijacking my own thread) How does Tom work his established models? Is he willing to make small changes to them, or does that dilute the design? I asked in an email if he would be willing to change the handle shape or maybe give one some negative blade angle. He hasn't written back. I fear I may have made myself seem difficult.

Note that it may be easier to initiate your discussions with a phone call rather than an email.

There are a lot of items in his lineup that came from customer requests (the TK-Tank and Black Knife are good examples). One of the most common changes he makes is a blade length mod, either shorter or longer. The Colorado 8 is a shortened version of the TK-8 but with a 3.5" Colorado-legal blade instead of the usual 4" version. He'll also mix and match handles and blades between models. The best example of this is the Jack Turner Special, which is a Micro Chef blade with a TK-11 handle.

if you dont mind me asking what blade is the 3rd from the bottom with the green handle

Thats a Jon Graham stubby Razel flipper.
Best little folder I've ever owned.
Email me and I can tell you more about it.

My first Alpha and my first Krein. First impressions are, it's a very well built knife and appears to be a solid tough user in a little package. It's light and pockets extremely well. I have never been fond of black blades but these newer stonewashed looking black blades and grayish blades look raw and organic. I am LOVING them. Also, I think the polished edge of the lock side are a nice touch.
I really look forward to putting this knife to use but it's almost too nice to use. I use my knives but sue more than others. It will be interesting to see how this one plays well with others in my collection.
