So I picked up a Shaman because it is simple and the blade profile looked like one that would work for my main reason that I reach for a knife these days, food. Ok so I didn't just pick it up I tracked down one that I had seen in many pictures posted by its various owners through the years. I had become obsessed with it and talked with the current owner and next thing I knew here it was. I believe that many here share my thoughts that if a knife is not working for their needs that we all want it to land in the hands of someone that will use and appreciate it. So the prototype Shaman has landed here now and I really dig it!

The blade is under 3.5" so I can conceal carry where I live which is a must for me.
Take a Gaucho blade and lop off 7/8" at an angle and what do you have, the Shaman blade.
Really hold the Shaman blade over the Gaucho and they are extremely close if not exactly the same profile. It is no wonder I like using the Shaman in the kitchen so much. Let me clarify what I mean by this, I use full size kitchen knives for bulk work. If I want to shave off some onion and a slice of tomato to go on my burger I go for the knife in my pocket in this case the Shaman. Evening snack with apple slices and giant blackberries in 1/3rds, Shaman. I am always doing this kind of thing.

After dark kitchen photo, kind of a reminder to me that I need to finish upgrading the lighting.

So the sheath that was matched with it is nice but it is just too big to be in my pocket with my phone. I found that another sheath I have works way better for me and my light daily usage. This was a big deal, that sheath made carrying the Shaman less comfortable than was worth the trouble even though the knife is awesome. This is just my opinion with my pant and pocket size etc. Below are both sheaths and I can't say 100% for sure what both models are but wow what a difference in day to day use for me. It rides high in the smaller sheath but it rides lower and to the side more in my pocket and for me both are wins.

I will post up a better picture or two when I the sun is higher but I really want to see all of your Shamans and hear about why you like them.

I really like the Shaman model. Because of the simplicity of the nature of this model, I think it may be more suited to Sam in the story than the Raptor or Reaper either one.

I look forward to seeing what that all turns into whenever you get a chance to finish.

Hey David L David L I have your twin! The Shaman was one of my first Fiddlebacks and is my EDC workhorse. The whole Pygmy family continues to be my favorite Fiddlebacks with its newest member The Big Kahuna!A2199C8E-D00B-4D75-98F1-414438131473.jpeg I have always been partial to Wharncliffe style blades9719A5FE-9A80-4D5E-B877-F4B44F13D1F9.jpeg ACD1B174-7D42-43C5-B1E8-751F2548402D.jpeg
