I consider modern traditionals to be traditional slip joints made with modern materials or shapes. Here are mine, all are customs except the Benchmade:
- Left is by the Maestro Vincenzo Balistreri and has a Wharncliffe blade in Damasteel, covers of Woolly Mammoth ivory, and a brass mosaic shield.
- Above is by Joel Chamblin and features a CPM 154 blade in a Wharncliffe pattern with a harpoon swedge, and lightning strike CF covers.
- Right is a Benchmade Gold Class Proper, with a drop point (I think) blade in Damasteel with a swedge, Mokume Gane bolsters, and Micarta covers with a wood grain pattern that matches the wood grain look of the bolsters.
- Below is another by Vincenzo Balistreri, with a spearpoint blade in polished Damasteel and solid Timascus scales with a Damasteel shield.
