Let me start by saying this knife is not pretty. I have not had a decent "slicer" in several years so decided to finish one out.
I found this blade setting on a shelf a couple weeks ago. I had originally planned to cut it down to about a 6" blade, but that changed yesterday. This blade is circa late 2010 early 2011 and I could see a lot of grinding mistakes. I left the tip in the same place, but completely changed the profile of the handle and the blade. I made it resemble to me a narrow Bowie or Fighter. The knife is 15" OAL with a 10" blade from 135" 3V. I did not plan on showing it off nor selling so hence I did not put the effort into finishing it very well. The edge was ground to near zero and is about .005" behind the edge. It might not look pretty but it will fall through anything the edge touches. The "fancy" wrapping is over leather and is very secure and comfortable in hand.
Now that you have seen my "Meat Slayer" I would like to see yours.
