Show Your Well USED Sebbies!

Hi there --

I just got my first Seb -- a small reg. It's used but in great condition. I've owned other CRK fixed blades, and a Mnandi (which I've since sold as it wasn't quite my style), but never a Seb. This is going to be my new EDC.

I was just wondering how others' Seb's have held up over the years. I checked the pics thread but all I found was one Seb that has been sharpened, the others all seem to be safe queens (I only went through about a dozen pages). So does anyone have any pics of their well used Sebbies???

Actually there are a lot of photos out there of EDCs and, when you start with two slabs of titanium and one of steel, there really isn't a lot of wear to see.

I've been EDCing a small plain Seb for over two years now and the only wear I can see is some polish at the point of the blade where use is rubbing off the stone-wash finish and on the clip where I accidentally brush against things. I don't have any close-up camera capability so every shot I tried didn't really show any wear.

C. Storr,

Congratulations on your first Sebbie. As you've heard before, you'll probably have more. They are delightful knives.

Below is my small, regular purchased new in 2000 as I recall. It has been edc'd the vast majority of the time since then. It has been back to CRK for refinishing and adjusting the tension on the lock bar.

As mentioned above, Sebbies don't show wear quite like some knives. The Ti handles scratch easily but as the scratches continue the handle just takes on a smooth, "satin-like" appearance.

Anyway, this knife has been used and sharpened extensively. There is another post floating around that shows a Sebbie with a blade sharpened away to some extent. Mine is far from that but a careful examination will show some sharpening away of the blade. It looks somewhat like the blade of a Classic model.

Here is my knife with its constant carry companion, my beloved Vic Soldier. They are resting at the edge of our goldfish/turtle pond.

That is the same combo resting in my pocket. Very veratile, the two tools compliment eachother well. Add a Swisstool Spirit on the weekends!

I like the looks of a worn in one better than a new one.
Heres a pic of my new Snake wood and a pic of my old pocket polished Bocote.

I've had this small classic for about a year now. It gets used pretty hard but still looks near new.
