These, along with some other knives, were handed down by my father. He bought them in Nepal during his travels in the Marine Corps, most likely in the late 70's.

I looked for a khukri pic thread or general khukri discussion section and could not find any. Feel free to move this to a more appropriate section if needed.

The Khukri in the plastic wrapping is identical to the one above. It has never been removed from the wrapping.

Nice. Are khukris a combat style knife or do they some obscure utility that I don't know about? I know hawkbill type knives keep whatever you are cutting on the blade more easily. Is it the same kind of deal with the khukris? They look rather bad ass and sinister to my eye. (Which is a good thing :D I just wouldn't want to carry one around town if ya know what I mean)

Traditionally they were carried by the Ghurka soldiers of Nepal. I believe they are largely a utility knife and are excellent at chopping. They usually come with two smaller knives used for shaving tinder and striking a flint stone. The sheaths also had a pouch for carrying tinder and flint as well.

Nice kukris. Check out the Himalayan Imports forum if you want to look for kukri discussion section.
