Hi folks. I've been lurking around here on the Traditional Folders forum for a little while and ended up catching a renewed interest slip joints (like I really needed one more thing to spend my money on). Anyway when I took a trip to Gatlinburg, I had to stop in at Smokey Mountain Knife Works and pick a little something up. It didn't take me long to pick something out either, I looked at several other knives, but a little Queen Gunstock, birdseye maple, insisted that she go home with me.

Here she is, ain't she a beaut...

I think I've started a habit.:D

You picked up a very nice knife. The edge may be a little thich, but once you get it like you want, that baby will slice like crazy. I have a high respect for the D2 queen uses after hand sharpening a few knives.

I spend a lot of time in the Smokies, and plan to be back there this weekend. Nothing like stoping at the Men's toy shop (SMKW) and spending an afternoon looking at all the slippies. They even have a counter with old Case knives, but their prices are a little high, but some of the knives they have can not be found easily else where.

Thier prices were a little high, but it a tourist area, and there something about being a tourist that makes me a little looser with the purse strings. I'll buy things when I'm out like that I won't normally buy (I'm a bit of a tight wade, but nothing compared to my wife). The Queen was $62, when I got back home I did a search and found them about $6-8 cheaper, but that's ok. I also picked up a little Ka-Bar Dozier folder while I was there, I like Dozier's stuff, I also have a Ka-Bar Black Thorn.

Welcome out of lurker status, and nice catch on that knife. Just the thing for a little "folksy" cuttin. :D We're gonna keep enjoying that title here for quite a while I think. Fits and it's fun to use.
