I know that Shrade retired a Imperial Military Knife, not sure of the exact model any more, it was back in 1987 when I purchased this knife from the Army clothing store when I was stationed at FT Bragg in the 82nd Airborne. The knife was a black fixed blade knife and sheath with a saw tooth back, non-serrated drop point blade and with a black high impact cross-checked pattern plastic handle, about a 5 1/2-6" inch blade. I Wonder if any one knows of the particular model number, and possibly locating a used one of this knife that they discontinued I think around 1989 or around about that time. Any one who could shed some light on this subject, is greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Hi Veratta. Aways happy to help out a canopy head. Imperial Schrade made four knives along military lines. From what you are describing, it sounds like the Imperial M7-S. It had a modified M7 bayonet blade with a pretty much standard plastic, checkered, handle.

My photo is not very good here, but it is the knife to the far right, it's camo sheath is to the left of it. Also photoed from left to right, is the other Military blades from Schrade: 'Bomb Tech' with blunt tip, BTO1, and DBL2. However, all of these knives have a 'file back', instead of a dropped point. Further back on the blade, on each, is a 'sawback'. If you need better photos of these, just let me know. You can find any of them on ebay.

Thanks Textoothpk, I am happy to see the knife you referred to is the correct knife I am looking for! Much Thanks! AirBorne! Hoorah!

Doggone it, Phil, but you are SHARP after a hunting trip. In fact, you're as sharp as a, a, ........Toothpick. :D

Bill

Phil,
Did you stop using that 12 gauge yet?
I knew you had the military's that would help.
Larry

I'll use anything to get my limit of squirrels. But here I am in my country two days ago with two handfulls of squirrels and one of my sharp-shooting .22 rifles. Of which I have many.

Schrade content: Larry, here is the jacket I had made with the hides of deer I killed over a two year period. I split the pelvic bone of each of those deer with the saw on my 97OT. The knife on my hip is a Gerber Yari, in a custom made Mexican loop crossdraw sheath, slight cant forward. In the pocket of my game vest is a Schrade 'navi-tool'.

Verrata, anything I know about the Schrade Military knives, I learned from here in this forum, from the other members. It's a good place to make friends and learn.

Veratta, welcome to the forums, specially to the Schrade forum, the company may go, but the knives will be around for a long long time.

Phil, now, that jacket is much nicer than a Margarita shirt, and soft as chamois I guess.

When I was a kid we had three .22 rifles, an automatic, a bolt action and a kid sized pump, all gone now and not easy to get one in Mexico, I´m green with envy.

Luis

As soft as chamois, yes, Luis.

As LT does when he plays poker, I like to dress the part.

My favorite western movie is The Searchers , starring John Wayne. I've rented it a few times, so I can get the details down on the fringed leather gun case he carried his winchester in. Have two hides so I just need to find the right seamstress.
I'd also like some beadwork done on it.

But enough about me.... did I ever tell you guys about Larry's car????

Phil

Larry has a CAR? I'm jealous, of course. Tell us about it.....I'll bet it's filled with knives and stuff, Schrade of course. :)
Well, back to work on my bicycle. :D

Phil,
We all have our vises! ;)

I told you it runs in the family.
My 80 yr old dad is driving test vehicles for Ford the the AZ test grounds. Best job he's ever had and he just got a Honda Gold Wing to drive/fly back and forth to work.

Hope I can someday get my car out to the test grounds for 1 lap around.

Ya I got a schrade sticker in the window.
TTYL,
Larry
Oh it's a blue WRX STI.

It looks like some sorta pocket racecar. I do know this:

If I were to drive that thing through the streets of Ellenville, ALL of said town's lovely young maidens would lining the streets, lusting for a chance for a ride.

My father in law was from Tamaulipas in northern Mexico, where deer skin fringed clothing is typical, particularly a jacket called "Tamaulipeca", or "cuera Tamaulipeca", I tried searching around the Web for a picture, this is all I could find:

Wear one of these while cruising around Ellenville in a fancy car and you´ll surely get the ladies attention.

Luis

Luis, that is cool! A very distinguished looking gentleman there in the one pic. I think I'd fit right in with those good folks. I found a few more pics on the web, and here is my favorite; Her beauty is only rivaled by that of the gorgeous maidens of Ellenville.

I like the embroidery used on the leather. I wonder what it is.

How eclectic this thread has gotten; you guys are the best friends I've never met. Well, except for Larry... I mean, I actually did meet him.

Adios campadres,
Phil

put it in a drawer a few years ago and haven't even thought about it until now. It was a really good knife for the swamps around these parts. I just pulled it out and it still looks brand new, even though it had heavy use. Glad you put this post up and reminded me of it.
