I have a Shrade+ LB 5 that needs the springs to keep the blade in the lock position. Does anyone know where I can find these parts or know of anyone who can fix this knife?

Will the spring from an offshore LB5/5OT fit? That might be a source for the part.
(I don't know if it will fit, or if an economically viable option. I'm guessing it would be less expensive than having a new spring made, or buying a trashed vintage that may or may not have a good spring.)
There are several here on BF who are capable. Whether their book are open or not is another story. That being the case, I'll mention no names.
They do post in the knife maker's and maintenance/tinkering/modifications sub-forums. :D

I have a LB7 that someone went ape with a bench grinder on the blade that I found in an old building I had to tear down for work. If someone can confirm it would work or if you want to give it a try I'll send it to you. Just let me know we can work out the details in PM.:thumbsup:

There were a couple of different spring designs for the LB5 over the years. One was a butt piece with a spring rod inserted into it, the other was an integral spring and butt piece. You'd have to know which one came with your knife in order to replace it.

How do I tell which one I have. I see a hole in the butt piece by shining a light in it but have not taken it apart yet. Thanks for the reply.

Not sure if it will work. Thanks to a few replies from some great people on here I guess there are a few variations. I will keep you posted and thanks for the offer. Or if you wanted to send it up I can try. I appreciate your response.

It has the part, official name has slipped my mind, that locks the blade. I a missing the spring or part that goes into the butt piece and keeps the pressure applied to the bar that keeps it locked in position. I guess they are called springs and from some research there might be three pieces to it. I am guessing. My wife is a knife fanatic and it was her dads and would like to fix it for her as a keep sake since her father has passed.

Here's the LB7 I have, as you can see all its really good for is parts at this point. Its pretty gummed up as well. I can see the spring inside is kinda square with rounded corners, its as square as the blade is thick, approximately 1/8 inch. Even if the LB7 spring is to long perhaps it can be cut off a bit on the end that inserts into the hole. The end that engages the lockbar has a bend in it. I'll see if I can pm you later and get your mailing address I'll send it to you :)

David an LB-7 flyspring won't fit an LB-5, it's too thick. The LB-7 spring is about .120 thick and the LB-5 is about .095 thick.

Marc I have some of the integral sandwiched springs but none of the two piece flyspring/butt piece models that it sounds like you need. You might have some luck here:

Also I believe I might have some .095 spring wire that you could use. You'd have to trim it a bit to get the proper length but that's easy to do with a lockback as you can basically assemble it all minus one side to see how everything fits.

Some knife vendors whose sites I frequently visit happen to have a surprising amount of old Schrade parts. I found this out when I just searched "schrade" one time at one of these sites, and discovered that in addition to the Chinese knives, they had bags of handle pins from the old Schrade factory, pocket clips, all kinds of Schrade USA blades, and so on. I looked through the old Schrade parts of a couple of these sites this afternoon, but unfortunately found no springs for an LB5 or any other knives. Sorry! :(

Thanks for the info, I was afraid it would be to thick but wasn't sure. I've not had an LB5 in hand just the LB7 and an LB3 I have. Wasn't sure where the LB5 fell in the range really I know the LB3 is small because I keep one in place of the missing stone in my Uncle Henry large pro hunter sheath.

That's great idea! Yes the LB-5 parts are smaller all around, not just the flysprings. Here's a comparison between an LB-7 setup and and LB-5 integral spring setup. The LB-5 was also made with the separate parts, same as the LB-5, but they would be pretty much the same size as the integral parts:
