I am having another Hammer Inn here in Shreveport and all are invited. We will be operating a press with powderd steel and a power hammer for forging etc.. Plenty of forging and grinding. It will be Saturday and Sunday with grilled meat of some sort. Will be reviewing knife construction, forging processes, handles, grinding, making Damascus and Mosiac (I hope to learn a lot on this) etching, clay hamons and differential heat treating among other things. Please let me know if you can attend so I can figure food etc. You all come as it is sure to be fun. I will be posting pictures of my shop and set up soon. I look forward to seeing old freinds and making new ones. Dan

Lord willing & the creek don't rise I will be there. Looking forward to meeting you since I have admired your work for some time. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. Or anything I can bring, like homemade smoked sausage & smoked boudin. God bless.

Sounds like it will be ablast Dan, I am sorry I have aready blown my travel budget for the year. Maybe next one.

Wish you could be here Mark. Here are a few shots of the shop and my power hammer.

Wow, very cool. I do have to get down there some day, I have too many fine friends down there not to. Thanks for the shots, I am sure you guys will have a great time. Talk to you later.

Dan, If my calender allows it, I might try and make it. I am looking forward to a good hammer in and learning as much as possible.

Don, you as is everyone are most welcome. Sure to be a lot of fun and lots of knowledge to be had from everyone.

Those of us who attended last year know that Dan is a gracious host and a skilled maker. Robert's brisket alone was worth the trip. You guys take plenty of pics for us!

David

Thanks David, hope you can come. Bring anything you want to drink. We are going to have brisket so any desert?:)

yes I have to fill up the tank and inflation is kicking in. Filled up my small tank and it was 20.00 and last time I filled it, it was 15 dollars and change. Gotta love this change.

Looks like we are going to have a good turnout. We are going to be burning some propane for sure. I will be forging some Damascus and making some patterns and hope we can get Rusty to do some forging to shape blades. Sure to be lots of grinding and discussions on construction, handles and knife desighn. And Oh yes, the brisket and Johnny Warner is nice enough to offer to get beans and potatoe salad from Podnuh's BBQ. Sure to be a good time and looking forward to meeting and seeing friends.

The brisket has been massaged, and is in the fridge. Good looking chunk of beef with some nice marbling, so it ought to taste real good.

Sunday is going to be chicken halves, or leg quarters cooked over pecan wood.

Till Saturday.

RP

Hey Dan, I got your boudin and an extra 5 lbs. to throw on the grill at the hammer-in. It oughta go great with brisket and beans. See ya there.
