Its an old pic but here's the story.
Recently retired but still in the same general line of work-Radio advises another jurisdiction is attempting forced entry at a local motel on person screaming call. My partner and I are nearby so we responded and see the guys standing outside a partially open door (swungs outward with security latch in place-about 3inches or so ajar). I ask whats up . They say they have hotel security enroute with a tool to open door. The occupants are hiding in the bathroom. I just happen to have slung my trusty Shrike S13 over my shoulder as we arrived. I say I can get that with my hawk. The Sgt says go. One whack and we are in. An apparent assault with drugs involved was the general situation
This happened several weeks ago. The Hawk patiently rides in the trunk for it's next adventure. . .

Nice application of personal equipment in that situation! Put together a good write up on the incident and an equally well thought out proposal to your Chief of Police and you might be able to justify that particular piece of equipment as a new addition to what your department issues to Officers in the field.

Great story, thanks for sharing.

I have a full sized Shrike and love it. Thankfully haven't ever needed to do any type of breaching with it and doubt I ever will but I love to hear stories about just how tough my Shrike is.
By the way, it works just as well in the woods, the thing is a power house!

He actually has seen a hawk demo and inquired about mine. I contacted RMJ on large purchases and forwarded the info to the Chief.
