Shrinking "collection"

I don't remember exactly when I started "collecting" knives. I only remember my small Ka-Bar folding hunter (probably about the size of a Buck 112) when I was a kid -- had it right up through high school, but I'm not sure what happened to it. I picked up a Kershaw DWO II and little Buck Titanium when I worked in a hardware store in college.

I was issued an off-brand folder in the Air Force, which I promptly replaced with a Buck-lite folder (green plastic, finger grooves, about 3" blade). Wore that and a Gerber milti-tool for years.

I guess I kept looking at knives, but could never afford any of them. My wife bought me a Benchmade min-reflex for my birthday in about '96. After that I started buying the occasional Benchmade offered at the BX (no tax, and usually priced lower than Internet or any B&M stores locally).

I guess it's only in the last two years that I've really started paying attention to what I like and searching it out.

Anyway, now to the POINT of the post. I've noticed I've got a couple of fixed-blade hunters, a folding hunter, and several folding EDC's that I use pretty much exclusively. I've given away a bunch of my production folders, and I'm eyeing a few more that don't do anything for me anymore.

It's funny, as I get more into knives, and buy more knives, I seem to have fewer overall in my knife chest.
