I have a horizontal sheath that carries my knife like a charm. But after using it for a very long time it had stretched. Still hold the knife when I wear my pants but as soon as I take them off the knife falls out..

Don't want to throw this away as the person that made them no longer does...

So can I shrink the sheath back down to get a tighter hold of my knife out am I just stuck with it the way it is..

Needed some input in whether or not I can shrink it and what to do if I can..

Thanks
Mike

Any idea what finish was applied to the leather?

If it wasn't acrylic stuff, you could wet the sheath and let it dry naturally, then apply some sort of wax based conditioner.
The key is to not help it dry, so no oven or hairdryer.

Pics will help coulpe of different ways to tighten up a sheath.

Yeah pics. I'm guessing it's a pouch sheath? If so, you can probably add sufficient retention by wet molding around the ricasso/front of scales. Without more information or pics we're pretty limited for advice.
