Looking at getting one, however it is A2. How does Jerry's A2 to SR-101 and INFI? Please no unsubstantiated opinions. Jerry what do you have to say? Does anyone have pictures? Thanks

Not speaking from experience here, but Jerry's original A2 blades are what made Busse Combat. Beat it with abandon.

the late Chris Janowski tested one for his survival school when it was first produced and I asked him personally how it fared and he stated that he went way beyond what he stated in the article to try and break it, with no luck. His article in survival magazine was around 1997 or so. He related to me a lot of what he did that he did not mention in the article and it definitely will hold up well against anything made today and the difference between it and INFI would probably not be noticeable for all but anyone who actually takes a blade to purposeful destruction. He never got to work with INFI, but he was more than happy to use the SHII in A2.

It was the July 1996 American Survival Guide article.

I have a transcribed Word doc of the article.

His list of requirements, and how easily the SHSH passed (OK, SURpassed) them, is what prompted me to buy my SHSHII (which, by the time I bought it, was INFI).

A2 is where Busse's Hard Use reputation was set in stone...... Every A2 user I have surpasses MANY other knives currently produced in any steel and they are 15+ years old

A2 Badger, retired years ago because I thought I had found "better".

Returning to regular use with abandon, along with its cousin Mean Street in A2, and headed up by the Birds Beak Steel Heart II. None have surpassed them yet, and I have a very very high regard for my BAe and SHe.

If you need any more information -- I have a number of small and mid sized Busses in A-2 and a few of the choppers. Never noticed any practical differences, whatsoever.

As an engineer and a physicist, I don't think you have much to worry about.

Well, unless you were planning to go up against a tank. Or you needed to remove a hill from your back yard.

I once made a mountain out of a mole hill, but the wife told me its more impressive to make a mole hill out of a mountain. :o

yup, that's it. I think I still have the pre-release copy that Janowski mailed to me somewhere. Chris was a really nice guy and he never mentioned that he broke some popular knives that were on the list simply because he knew that he had gone far beyond what you would do in a survival situation.

Sometimes I tend to go to far with stuff. like this below. I can't remember what order I took it apart in to clean it. and I think I heard some parts roll off the table.
