Just interested. :D
If you were faced with the situation where you were out in the wilderness with one knife of your choice and were going to be there for several months.. (survival scenario)

Name the Busse that you would most like by your side.

Myself.
I think it would be a toss up between the SH-e or the new NO. probably the NO as the novelty hasn’t had time to wear of it yet. :D

One thing’s for certain, I would want a drop point, so both would suffice.
Ian.

I'd have to say the Nark, because of the sawteeth.
IF I was allowed an axe, that is.
If I wasn't allowed an axe, I'd go for something a lot bigger.

I would have to choose my INFI SHII, It is big enough to do the chopping duties, but still small enough to some fine work. Of course, I don't think I would be caught with only one knife on me, I think my SHII and the drop point hunter proto I got from the Extravaganza 2 sale is about the perfect duo!

:D  :D

No constest, either a SH-E or a BM-E, bigger blades ALWAYS, ALWAYS outperform the smaller blades in the woods!!!! ;) My last 3-month trip to Central America was spent living in a clark jungle hammock, cooking on an open campfire, fishing for food, etc. and I had a NO-E, SH-E and a BM-E. The NO got maybe .01% of the workload and the other two were the workhorses especially the BM followed by the SH

My Magnum EU-17, seeing as it is my only Busse. My choice might change if I get some more someday...

Oh yeh, forgot to mention that I am never without my AD as it performs all the small detailed stuff. So I guess I would never be caught without 2 blades, an AD and SH-E or BM-E :footinmou ;)

That would have been a great experience..:cool:

I’ve been in isolation many times in the past, working, but always with the fundamentals on hand to make life bearable in the bush.. No electronics, but always food, swag (bedroll), water and horses at hand.. Pre Busse days :D

My only large knife then was a Green River Skinner, one of the old wooden handled ones.

A heavier knife would have been an asset at times, but I would still think that the 7.5 inch blade would be about the optimum.

Just my thoughts, the BM-e is just a little too much knife for the job and a better fighter than survival knife?? Environment or type of country could change that somewhat I suppose.
Ian.

Yeh, on that trip the BM is definitly a luxury blade and if I only had a NO-E I could make it work. I just found myself using the bigger BM for chopping the most followed closely by the SH-E which has actually now become my favorite Busse because it's the middle size of the three, but I'll never get rid of that BM-E. Reguardless of what size blade everyone likes, I think we all agree that INFI RULES. ;) The hammock life is great, except when you zip it up for mosquito proofing, it becomes an agonizing sauna in the jungle. Next trip I'm taking some kind of AA battery operated small tent fan so I can breathe in that thing. :)

i guess if chopping wood was going to be a big priority, like in a northern climate i'd choose the aftershock bolo.
otherwise the sfno or eu-17 should do fine :)

hammocks=motion sickness :barf: :rolleyes:

i would normally say my bm-e as well but i've been using my mofo so much lately i might take it instead.

i have hi hopes for a new mofo with a sf handle. what do you think jerry? ;)

If I had a choice, it would be my SHSH II. I'm getting like you as far as gravitating towards the ~7" blades. Anything larger is just a bit unweildly for me at least.

If it was what is on my belt at the moment, it would be a SHBA and a large Sebbie. The AD got switched out for a week or so while the SHBA gets belt time. The third member of this club is an old style MS, but really doesn't strike me as a woods knife. The Sebbie is a constant on the belt.

OOooo.....how about the SHBM Mike has for sale right now!

I might bring along Chuck's machete too....BTW Jerry, when should I be sending that out again? ;)
