Can anyone explain the difference between the Reserve line and the Bob Kramer line? I know the Kramers has been discontinued, but they look almost identical and use the same steel. Any insight would be appreciated.

1) completely different blade shapes
2) welded comfort bolster
3) completely different handle shapes with fiber wafers along tang

The only things that are the same is the blade steel with ladder pattern Damascus, and the black and red pakkawood.

Wow, I never noticed those differences before, but you are absolutely right. Thank you for your discerning eye. Having said that, any opinion on which you prefer and why?

I haven't had a chance to use the Reserves, but the Kramers are AMAZING (so long as you take proper care of them).

Thanks kneedeep. Any thoughts on sharpening SG2. I have some Norton crystolon stones that I use on my S30V Spydercos. Will they do?

I recently had the chance to compare a shun reserve and bob kramer in person and aside from the accurate differences pointed out by Thomas W I also noticed that the handles were also very different in that the tang in the kramer does not go all the way through the width of the handle and the handle of the kramer is tapered towards the butt, which, IMO give the kramer a nicer, sleeker feel.
