DOES anyone have or carry one of these knives?Where is the good place to get one of them and made by who? What is the purpose of this design?

Original rasolino or mozzetta knives were made because Italian officials banned carrying knives with a sharp tip for obvious reasons. Locals needed their knives and every man had a straight razor. Rasolino (razor) knives imitated those but were a more usefull design.

Rasolino was also used to make a sfregio, a cut to the face to make an insult, "I cut you so that everyone can see it". Traditional Italian knife fighting has a lot of techniques for straight razor.

Have a look at the linked post, and go up a bit and you will see a post with some links, there are some beautiful and unique very fine hand crafted knives shown in the linked thread, and if you work your way back, you'll see some really nice stuff. You might have some luck googling some of the makers mentioned, and maybe even if you search there might be som of them with FB pages. Good luck!

These are made by Dionisio Zapatero in Latvia!!! Anyone know anything about this maker?
