Not me!
I just finished up one of my Scout Hunters. I made this one from CPM-154 and some fantastic Desert Ironwood.
It has a nice distal taper and is flat ground to a fine edge. The tang is tapered for very nice balance.
It has a dark acid washed finish and a polished spine for a nice contrast.
The Ironwood has that great chatoyance and flash that only Ironwood has.

The sheath is a hand stitched and heavy duty.

Thanks for looking!

It's a good looking knife.

I prefer burled ironwood, or what some call "exhibition grade" ironwood....but the stuff you have on that knife is quite nice.

Arizona Desert ironwood in nice burl scales or blocks is becoming fairly difficult to find.

The thing that annoys me about this and many highly figured beautiful woods is that you pretty much MUST keep it out of UV light or it darkens greatly and just looks like....wood.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

I agree Steven, Burl Ironwood is the cats meow. And yes, it is hard to find and getting more expensive. I have been able to find some nicely figured "straight grain" stuff that I like a lot as well.
I am about to put some nice DI Burl on a NWS, I will post up pics when it is complete.

Good looking piece dude!

I actually prefer straight grained ironwood and these slabs are gorgeous. Sheath is well-matched also.

Ben,

DI is my absolute favorite wood even though there are some close seconds.
Very good looking knife and I certainly agree w/DI getting pricey.
Are those black micarta pins in the handle ? They look nice whatever they are.
One I have coming has a premium DI handle too.
Keep up the nice work and thanks for sharing !

Really nice looking knife in all respects. I really like the dark pins against the wood color and how the handle thins
twd the pommel end.

Tad

Nope, not tired of DI yet, I am just now noticing (slow, I know) that it comes in such different patterns too, not just the obvious really desirable high figured patterns, but lately seeing a lot of differences in shade and colors. Keep them coming.

Thanks Doug. The pins are carbon fiber.

Thanks Tad, that means a lot!

Thanks. Yes DI varies widely in color and figure. I like it all!

Can't get enough ironwood. My all time favorite handle material. Looking forward to seeing the NWS. Excellent work as always Ben.

Like it!
Can you get Coyote Tan Desert Ironwood?
:)

I'll keep my eye out Rolf. : )

Thanks Brian! I will post up pics of it when it is complete, should be pretty sweet.

We do see an awful lot of Ironwood, but I don't get sick of it.
Very nice and functional design.

That Ironwood looks a bit like Cocobolo.

I'll never be sick of ironwood. It's one of my favorites. So many beautiful variations. Great knife.
