Sid Jirik Knives

I came into posession of a couple of Sid Jirik knives a few years back. One is called the Alaskan Hunter, the other the Alaksan Skinner. At the time the knives were made he was in Anchorage, Alaska. The Hunter was featured (as a cover blade)in the 1980(?) issue of Knives Illustrated (if memory serves me). Workmanship appears to be first rate!
Does anyone know anything about him and his knives?
