Hey Emerson fans,

I was wondering if anybody has had experience using the wave feature while having a pistol on your hip or on a drop down leg holster? I have no actual experience using the wave feature, but I could see very easily the pistol getting in the way as normally the gun/holster/drop strap are extremely close to the pocket. Anybody got a video, gif or experience with this? Thanks in advance.

It's difficult with a hip holster (depending on where the pockets are, how the holster is placed etc). With a drop down holster it's impossible with my uniform pants.. But it works from the cargo pockets on the same side:)

Edit: my pockets have zippers tho.. That makes it more difficult..

i imagine it would but not for me. carry and shoot southpaw strong side and knife is in my right side pocket. beauty of being ambi. more arms to use and pockets and every side is a strong side.

I have no problem with a 1911 at 3:30 - 4:00 IWB, waving my Horseman...
I guess YMMV though

No problems gere just depends on how you wave the knife either waving it by tilting the wave feature towards the pocket and pulling upwards or pulling the knife out and downwards if that makes sense makes sense

Instead of pulling "back" against the rear of the pocket, twist it so the wave/blade spine is away from your leg, pulling slightly away from your leg if the pocket is loose.

In short: it depends on the type of holster, how it's carried and the placement of the pants on the pocket :)

I've never had a problem. I carry a glock 26 in a Galco tuck and go. And I usually carry either a mini 7, horseman or commander

On my concealed gun its not an issue, on my duty belt yes if I have it in my front pocket as the holster covers it and I have to lift the holster to get anything out of that pocket hence why I carry it in my rear pocket while at work.

I oftentimes carry my Emerson de jure on my weak side front pocket (I'm right handed). The reverse wave actually works better than regular wave IMHO and having the knife on your off side could help with weapon retention as well as if your strong side hand/arm becomes disabled or compromised. Also, looser fitting pockets seem to wave better than tighter pockets.
